Kabul (BNA) Some elders and deputies of Samangan province to the House of People in their meeting with president Hamid Karzai emphasized on building of the dam of Aab Kaly.
Sayed Iqbal Muneeb and Amir Mohammad spoke at the meeting and shared their problems with the president including construction of roads and addressing of irrigation water shortages and asked for construction of dam in Aab Kaly area in the province.
They said that by building the dam around 40,000 hectares of land will come under irrigation and 35,000 farmers will be relieved of shortage of irrigation water.
They also insisted on acceleration of reconstruction activities and asked president Karzai to facilitate employment of the province’s cadres in government departments.
President Karzai expressed pleasure over completion of some projects in Samangan and assured the province’s representatives that the cabinet will assess their problems and necessary decisions will be taken.
He also promised that cadres of the province will be provided jobs in government departments and asked them to send their children to the schools, adding that Afghanistan cannot develop unless it has trained cadres and specialists, and you should encourage your children to get education so we would be relieved from others dependency.
