Deputy PM Meets with Officials and Professors of Private Universities

KABUL (BNA): Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs, convened a meeting with officials and professors from private universities in Kabul and other provinces.
According to a statement from the Deputy Prime Minister’s office, the meeting highlighted the significant role private universities have played over the past two decades in training scientific personnel and specialists, alongside government universities.
The officials and professors expressed that with government support, they could provide higher education to a large number of youth in the future, aligning with societal needs and minimal land use.
The participants suggested creating opportunities for higher education and organizing academic conferences at national and regional levels. This would enhance their capacities and enable better performance in their tasks in collaboration with relevant authorities.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of university activities for society. He stated that the government is committed to supporting all private educational institutions on a large scale and ensuring favorable conditions for them.
He also noted that foreign interventions have had adverse effects on Afghan society in various aspects. However, the Islamic Emirate is committed to addressing the problems of all sectors, including higher education, with new standards over time.
The meeting highlighted the idea of future joint sessions and supervision to support private universities and address their issues and suggestions. The Deputy Prime Minister assured complete cooperation in this regard.
