Tomb of Khawja Gayan Repaired

Kabul (BNA) Minister of Information and Culture Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen opened the Shrine of Khawja Gayan in Mir Bacha Kot district, Kabul province after rebuilding.
In a ceremony held on this occasion with the participation of civil and military officials, elders and local influential of that district, Mir Bacha Kot district governor Abdurahim Rashedi provided information on reconstruction activities took place in last ten years in that district.
Appreciating the attention of the MoIC for repairing the shrine of spiritual man Khawja Gayan and other historical monuments he pointed out to the need of locals to a library building.
In the ceremony Dr. Raheen provided information on the attention of that ministry to rebuilding of historical monuments and Tariqat-e-Khawjagan (a religious way), called Khawja Amanullah who is buried in this grave, as one of the elders of that way in this region and mentioned other leaders of this way.
Dr. Raheen said, “There are over 1200 historical monuments in the country out of which about one thousands belong to our Islamic civilization and most of them are being destroyed.
The MoIC has made its best efforts to prevent the destruction of the monuments and requested assistance of the world and specially the Islamic countries for further rehabilitation of the historical monuments. MoIC added, “One of the monuments which we prevented its destruction was the tomb and shrine of Khawja Gayan or acknowledged Wiseman, Khawja Amanullah who is known in the region as Khawja Gayan or Khawjagan which was led by this spiritual personality.
Dr. Raheen said, “The interpretation of the word Saray-e-Khawja is also attributed to Khawja Amanullah Wali. And Khawja and Khawjagan have been addressed to leaders of Naqshbandi Tariqat (way).
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Raheen and district governor of Mir Bacha Kot opened the rebuilt building of Khawja Amanullah Wali shrine which is known as Khawja Gayan shrine.
The head of MoIC preservation of historical monuments department Eng. Abdul Ahad Abbasi told the BNA reporter that this shrine has been rebuilt in less than one year with the cost of about seven million Afs. from the development budget of the MoIC.
