Commencement of Reconstruction Work on Aibak-Mazar and Aibak Pul-e-Khumri Highways

AIBAK (BNA): The reconstruction project of the Aibak-Mazar-i-Sharif and Aibak-Pul-e Khumri highways was officially launched today. The project will be carried out in three phases.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mawlavi Mohammad Rahman Mohammadi, the head of Samangan Public Works Department, outlined the project details. The project includes the repair and asphalt overlay of a 40-kilometer road, the construction of a 36-meter concrete bridge on both sides of the weighbridge along the highway, and the reconstruction of the Hazrat Sultan Bridge, which spans 81 meters.
The Ministry of Public Works has allocated 30 million Afghanis for this project. The reconstruction of the Aibak-Mazar-e-Sharif-Pul-e Khumri highway is projected to be completed within the next three months.
Mullah Dadullah Khadem, the deputy governor of Samangan, expressed the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to implementing more development projects to foster prosperity for the people during the project inauguration ceremony.
