No Legal Vacuum To Be Allowed In Govt. System: President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani chaired yesterday morning a series of meetings in ARG with prominent figures and representatives from different groups to seek their opinion on the future of the Lower House, the elections for the House, and start of the work of the Electoral Reforms Commission.
The participants included legal experts, representatives of women, media, civil society, and United Nations Office in Afghanistan (UNAMA). 
The participants shared their views and opinions with the President considering the prevailing political situation, available legal options and the country’s national interests.
Listening to their views and suggestions, the President said that no legal vacuum will be allowed to prevail in Afghanistan’s state system.
The President reiterated that any decisions in this regard will be taken as per the constitution and in light of national consensus and national interests of the country.
The President asked the participants to hold further meetings with each and share their conclusions with the Office of the President.
The President will continue this afternoon with the consultative sessions on the future of Lower House with the political and Jihadi figures, religious scholars, members of the Independent Election Commission and Independent Electoral Complaints Commission as well as the administrative board members of the Upper House of Parliament.
