Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai on Monday night participated at the Holy Quran recitation held at the presidential mosque, his office said.
The Holy Quran recitation started at the beginning of month of Ramadan along with Taraweh prayers (A Prayer only prayed during Ramadan in late evening) ended Monday night with prayers for welfare and prosperity of the people of Afghanistan.
The participants prayed to the Allah Almighty for restoration of nationwide peace and stability, progress and welfare of the people of Afghanistan and the world Muslims.
In addition to President Karzai, Chief Justice and Acting Chairman of Supreme Court, head of the nationwide Ulama Council of Afghanistan, Chairman of the commission of overseeing the implementation of constitution, Nematullah Shahrani advisor minister, some cabinet ministers and some ambassadors of Islamic countries also attended the Holy Quran recitation.
