CM Economic Committee Discusses Issues On Its Agenda

Kabul (BNA) The Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers (CoMs) with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on the chair held meeting yesterday.
Presidential press office said BNA, in the meeting attended by acting ministers, CEO Dr. Abdullah said that aim of holding this meeting is to discuss the budget deficit in the current fiscal year, country’s population, rate of unemployment, trade deficit and local products over the past few years. CEO Dr. Abdullah said that the prime objective of the government is to overcome the budget deficit to run financial activities free of problems, create job opportunities and increase local products. Briefing the meeting, acting minister for finance said that the government for its budget in current fiscal year needs $537 million and said part of the budget comes through national revenue and parts are provided by donor nations.
It was decided in the meeting that the finance ministry to do its best in collecting national revenue including customs duty and other means. The meeting also decided that in consultation with president of the country a joint meeting with donor nations will hold in near future to seek support. CEO Dr. Abdullah also instructed the acting president of Central Bank to present his report about the government and private banks within a week to take decision in the light of the report. Director of Central Statistics Office also presented his report about the country’s population and the rate of unemployment. CEO Dr. Abdullah also instructed the minister for transport and aviation to prepare report on the condition of the government and private airline companies within a week and submit to the office of CEO.
