Monday, October 20, 2014 Kabul (BNA) Nine ambulances were granted yesterday by UNICEF to provincial Public Health Department of Helmand. Deputy of Helmand Public Health Department told BNA that nine ambulances equipped with medical appliances had been assisted to Public Health Department of Helmand, adding three of the ambulances would be used in districts of the province. Helmand Governor al-Hajj Mohammad Naeem while receiving keys of the ambulances said, “UNICEF was cooperative and assisting Helmand in health services sector, adding a good example of the assistance is providing nine ambulances to the province.” Hinting related to supporting the UNICEF assistance to Helmand, the governor said 15 ambulances had been previously assisted by UNICEF to Public Health Department of Helmand where the vehicles could be used for transition of patients and those injured during the war. He asked UNICEF for further cooperation in this regard.
