CM Assigns MoIA To Ensure Development Projects’ Security

Kabul (BNA) Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim acting president chaired yesterday the plenary meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Gul Khana Palace and initially offered prayers to the soul of Shaheed Arsala Jamal former Governor of Logar who was martyred by the enemies of the people on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha while delivering his speech inside the mosque against all accepted Islamic norms and called him a religious personality and outstanding servant of the homeland and his martyrdom a great loss to the country.
The Council of Ministers to appreciate Arsala Jamal’s service assigned the local organs department to pay his salaries permanently and the ministry of Information and Culture should name a street after him and the administration affairs department facilitates providing of a plot land for his family members.
Mohammad Karim Khalili second vice-president and head of the economic committee of the CM presented the brief of the resolutions of committee to the meeting and the Minister of Economy apprised the cabinet about the status of progress of development projects in the first six months of current year.
He said that in 1392 a total of 607 projects from them 95 transitional projects at the total budget of USD2620 million were incorporated into the development plan of the government and during this period work on 65 projects were completed and work on 283 projects are going on and work on 260 projects due to non-completion of their documents have not started yet.
He attributed insecurity as the main impeding factor, non-specifying of capacities of contracting companies, lengthy procurement process at the special ARDS committee for delay in project implementation.
The CM assigned the Ministry of Interior Affairs to adopt measures for security of the development projects especially the infrastructural projects and the government ministries should accelerate the process of projects documents and the ministries of finance and economy should accelerate allocation of project resources through the ARDS committee.
Deputy Minister for administration of finance presented the attachments for USD8.08 million development budgets of the ministries of Agriculture and Irrigation, Refugees and Repatriates and the Kabul Municipality which was approved by the CM meeting.
The CM meeting ended with prayers for welfare and prosperity of the people of Afghanistan.
