Kabul (BNA) The fifth meeting of the National Procurement Commission (NPC) presided by H.E Mohammad Ashraf Ghani; the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan; was held on Monday June 15th, 2020 at Presidential Palace. At this meeting; NPC reviewed 24 procurement contracts; which resulted in approval of all contracts; worth more than 20 Million USD; which include the following: – Six contracts for recruitment of partner institutions for creating jobs in nine provinces referred by the IDLG – The contract for procuring of watermelon from associations and farmers for MoD, MoI, MoPH and Detention Directorate – The contract for engineering consultancy services for gas field facilities and gas pipeline in Afghanistan in two phases – The contract for procuring of gas for central and provincial detention centers of MoI – The contract for procuring of bread related to MoD Meanwhile the NPC reviewed and discussed the following procurement issues and provided guidance on them: – The contract for medical equipment, medicine and regents required for health facilities and hospitals of MoI – Evaluation report on different mines in Wardak, Balkh, Herat and Helmand provinces – The evaluation study of coal mining and cliché mining of Bamyan province were reviewed and proper guidance was shared with MoMP – The request for contract for construction gas pipeline from Khwaja Gogerdak to Code-e-Barq Shamal area related to the MoMP – The contract for procurement of food items for hostels of Kabul University, related to the Ministry of Higher Education – The contract for rental of two armored vehicles for 12 days, related to Independent Election Complain Commission Moreover,, the MoPH’s request for termination of the contract for providing health services in Takhar province was approved conditional to NOL from World Bank. The request for amendment of the contract of procuring and installation of 63 type of equipment, CCTV and security camera of HKIA was also approved. Moreover; based on the agenda; the NPC members reviewed the implementation report of previous NPC instructive decisions; including the following projects: – The report of supplying of flour from food associations to bakeries for distribution of bread for needy people of Kabul, related to Kabul Municipality – Report about the contract for procuring of fresh fruits jam related to MoD – Report about the contract for procuring of stationary related to MoD – Report about the contract for procuring of beans related to MoD At the end of the meeting the MoD requested the guidance about procuremnt of two type of meat, related to MoI and MoD where NPC instructed them to discusse it with Livestock Associations. The request for guidance on the suppliers request on increase in cost of food items because of COVID 19 diseas in the country, the NPC provide them proper guidance. In this meeting; beside the NPC members, the officials of NPA national and international observers had also participated.
