President Ghani Calls On Teachers To Respect Children

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has termed the children as future builders of the country and called upon teachers to respect the children by not allowing anyone to insult them by beating, threatening and ridiculing in schools, BNA reported.
The president made the remarks in his message to mark the International Children’s Day falling on June, 01. Besides congratulating the day to the children and countrymen, the president said that the personality of human being created in childhood and the prosperity of society linked to the modality and personality building and education of children. Child labors and forced marriages of children are the problems in the country, the president said, adding that problems should be ended. He also added that considerable number of children in Afghanistan dying annually due to malnutrition and ordinary diseases.
However, the president said that fortunately millions of children go to school today, while still considerable number of them especially the girls are out of school; while a number of children losing their lives in mine blasts and other inhuman activities, which is unacceptable to the government. The president also called upon media outlets, mosques leaders, intellectuals and notables to give awareness to families about the negative impact of violence against children, adding the children need comforting, playing and recreation and their questions must be responded. In his message the president called upon parents, countrymen, government bodies, civil society and religious scholars to pay more attention to the life of children.
