Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani approved amendments to the electoral law after they were endorsed by the cabinet, the amendments, additions and omissions were made to some parts of the electoral law.
According to BNA report, the changes to the law were approved by the cabinet and the president after consultative meetings with political parties, presidential candidates and civil society. After approving the amendments, President Ghani said the draft amendments bill was based on general agreement of political parties, presidential candidates and civil society institutes about elections. Chief Executive (CE) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah praised the consensus achieved about amendments to the electoral law. Second Vice-President Sarwar Danesh also talked about the amendments said they talked for 20 hours with presidential candidates, political parties and civil society about the changes. He said changes were brought to 39 clauses of the electoral law after agreed by all sides.
