Kabul (BNA) US ambassador to Afghanistan James Baking Ham called on first vice president Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim yesterday and assured on continued support in the fields of economy and backing security forces, a statement of presidential palace released here yesterday said.
Speaking in the meeting, the vice president said that the government in order to win the trust of people needs to provide necessary services and build economic and development infrastructures.
The vice president also noted that the government would do its best to hold the 2014 presidential elections in a fair and transparent manner.
The ambassador while expressing his satisfaction over his mission in Afghanistan said that the US would continue to stand alongside the people of Afghanistan.
Pointing out at green-on-blue attacks against NATO-led forces, the ambassador said such attacks would not affect the relations with the Afghan security forces, saying US would continue to support Afghans.
