Conference Discuss Youth’s Role In Peace Restoration

Kabul (BNA) The conference ‘Peace & Youth’ was held on the initiative of Ministry of Information& Culture’s deputy ministry on youth affairs here in ministry’s press hall yesterday, BNA reported.
According to Bakhtar News Agency, the conference was attended by 300 youth from the civil society association of the capital Kabul and other provinces as well as the deputy ministry’s employees.
Hinting on importance of youth’s role in peace, the Deputy Minister on Youth Affairs and acting Minister of Information and Culture said that during the past four decades of war and barbarism, the country’s youth have suffered the most, adding that ways should be seek to put end to challenges ahead of the youth and the deputy ministry has established a peace center in close coordination of the U.S. peace institute in Afghanistan.
Director of U.S. peace institute in Afghanistan Shah Mahmood Miakhel hinted on enhanced cooperation of the institute with Deputy Ministry on Youth Affairs on ways to bring durable peace in the country.
Some other participants of the conference also spoke related to importance of youth’s role in bringing peace.
At the end appreciation awards conferred to some elite youths whom in the conference were named as the peace ambassadors on behalf the Deputy Ministry on Youth Affairs and the U.S. Peace Institute in Afghanistan.
The conference was also attended by the Deputy Minister on Admin, Finance and Tourism Zardasht Shams, Najia Tariq deputy minister at the Ministry of Public Health and deputy minister of the Ministries of Higher Education and Counternarcotic.
