Marshal Faheem Meets Members of Physical Education Olympic Committee

Kabul (BNA) Marshal Mohammad Qassem Fahim First Vice-President met with members of the physical education and Olympic committee during which he appreciated their efforts towards growth of sports in Afghanistan and said that the achievements in recent years is the pride of the country and will remain eternal in history of the country.
He added that our people remember that you started sports on the ruins premises and with the growth of sports in all its spheres attained a good position.
By participating at the international games the athletes of Afghanistan hoisted the flag of Afghanistan.
He noted that sports are religious obligation of the people and the athletes are the ambassadors of peace and you should believe that sports bring peace and friendship and will eradicate war and violence from the country.
Touching on the growth of sports among the women he added that the women and girls of Afghanistan retain the right to engage in sports and the government support them and has its program to provide possible facilities for them.
General Mohammad Zahir Aghbar presented the jam of the Asian Federation of Marshal Fahim which was donated to the Olympic Committee.
Marshal Fahim said that currently a number of sports stadiums are in the process of completion in provinces of the country especially in Kabul better stadiums were built up.
The chairman of the Olympic committee said that the football league competition launched in Kabul showed that sports can bring about closer among the people and create friendship and affection among the people.
Marshal Fahim instructed the head of the museum to preserve the cup of the Asian Games as the pride of the people of Afghanistan.
