India Stands Beside Afghanistan to Emerge as Peaceful, Economically Vibrant Nation: Swaraj

Kabul (BNA)  Terror, connectivity & Afghanistan were the main focus areas for India when External Affairs Minister Sushama Swaraj delivered speech at the Shanghai cooperation organization Foreign Ministers meeting in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan yesterday.
Addressing the meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Foreign Ministers in the Kyrgyz capital External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said India is determined to consistently strengthen cooperation within the SCO framework for comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security.
“India stands committed to any process” which can help “Afghanistan emerge as a united, peaceful, secure, stable, inclusive and economically vibrant nation, with guaranteed gender and human rights,” she added.
Comments on Afghanistan comes in the backdrop of Delhi’s increased engagement with stakeholders such as the US, China, Iran and Russia on the Afghan peace process.
The two day meeting, beginning May 21st, witnessed all sides exchanging views on issues international and regional importance, along with reviewing the preparation for the forthcoming SCO summit in Bishkek from June 13 to 14, 1019.
