Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani congratulated Friday Ram Nath Kovind as Indian President-elect, BNA reported the other day.
According to a statement from the presidential palace, the agency quoted the country’s president as wishing success to the newly elected Indian president and prosperity to the people of India.
The president was also cited in the statement quoted by the agency to have been optimistic about expansion and strengthening of good relation between the two countries.
President Ghani also called Pranab Mukherjee, outgoing Indian President, as his country’s good friend and wished him further success in his life.
