Govt. Serious Decisions In Fighting Corruption Effective

Monday June 27, 2016

Kabul (BNA) The presidential palace declared that Justice and Judicial Center on Fighting Corruption will review the government officials’ cases during the current week.
The center is expected to assess the cases of high ranking government officials from top to low levels. The center has started working while fighting corruption is the government priority.
A while ago, President Ghani said the government will change the ongoing year (1395) to a fighting corruption year. Establishment of the Justice and Judicial Center on Fighting Corruption is an important step taken by the government of national unity. Afghanistan is recognized as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Over the last and half a decade, huge amount of money pumped into Afghanistan by the foreign countries. But unfortunately, due to widespread administrative corruption in the government offices, the aids have gone in vain and Afghanistan didn’t develop as it was expected. The former government had established different offices on fighting corruption, but none of them could be effective.
The fighting corruption entities had only policy-making or supervision role then and had never judicially pursued the corrupt people. But, the government of national unity’s step on establishment of Justice and Judicial Center on Fighting Corruption can be very effective in this regard. It seems that the government of national unity has taken some lessons from the former government failure on fighting corruption and it intends to seriously chase the corruption cases. Therefore, it is expected that a wave of openhanded courts to form and the corrupt people and mafia networks to be brought to justice. There is no doubt that establishment of the new center is not good enough, but a decisive will of the leaders is needed in the respect. Thus, at first, the implementation of process will exert pressures on the government, but undoubtedly, the government destiny-maker and decisive decision would finally succeed. Likewise, the people would also stand by the government, so no power can stop the process.
