Kabul (BNA) The chief of Independent Election Commission (IEC) Dr. Ahmad Yusuf Nooristani said yesterday that the election body would hold parliamentary elections before winter if the government provides necessary fund.
Nooristani who was questioned by House of People, told the lawmakers that holding parliamentary elections requires 80 million US dollars and if the sum is provided the IEC would be able to arrange the election process within five months before the winter onset.
The IEC, had plan to hold parliamentary elections on 2nd Saur 1394 but the donors had refused to finance, Nooristani said, adding the donors had conditioned financing to bringing reforms in the election commissions.
