Local Organs Should Have Specific, Implementable Programs: Massoud

Kabul (BNA) Ahmad Zia Massoud, Special Envoy of President on Reforms and Good Governance said yesterday that the local organs should have specific and practicable programs.
He made the remarks while presiding a meeting of his office with Local Organs Directorates here, BNA reported.
In the meeting matters relating local governances, providing services and the ways and means on how to implement the government policies and ensuring good governance.
Apprising the official, deputy on policy to local organs, Nadir Yama said the new policies would boost local governance.
He also noted that the code of conduct for appointing mayors, relinquishing authorities to local organs, the policy to increase municipalities’ revenues and holding workshops can bolster local governance.
After listening the viewpoints and suggestions, Massoud said that implementing specific development projects can pave the way for economic development and eventually reduces the gap between the people and administration.
According to another report, Massoud received a delegation of elders from Samangan province here yesterday.
After listening to their problems and proposals, Massoud promised to look after their problems through concerned ministries.
