Putin Visits Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates

KABUL (BNA): Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to visit two Middle Eastern countries, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday. This is his first trip to the region since the coronavirus pandemic.

The Kremlin spokesman said that Putin’s visit will last only 24 hours and he will return to Moscow after discussing bilateral relations, the Gaza conflict, the Ukraine war, and other issues with Saudi and Emirati officials.

According to the Kremlin, Putin will first go to the United Arab Emirates and then to Saudi Arabia.

This visit comes at a time when Putin is under international scrutiny for his role in the Ukraine war, which has led to an Interpol warrant for his arrest by the International Criminal Court.

This is one of Putin’s few trips abroad since the war began, as he has only visited China and a few other countries.
