Massoud Congratulates World Press Freedom Day

Kabul (BNA) Special envoy to President Ahmad Zia Masoud in a message has congratulated World Press Freedom Day to journalists and media workers
In his message, special envoy to President considered the day as memorial of a number of journalists’ devotion and efforts for hosting the flag of fact and truth. Journalists by accepting risk have been the pioneers in telling the truth, clarification of society’s thoughts and raising the voice of majority of silence to powers and governments.
In the message, Masoud while supporting speech freedom and fruitful activity of the country’s media prayed for the souls of martyrs, wishing that cases of violence against journalists and civil society would be seriously addressed and perpetrators of violence against them should be seriously punished.
