Kabul (BNA) The National Procurements Commission (NPC) meeting, with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair first extended condolence to JamilaIsmaelzada, the member of the commission on internship affairs who was killed in the suicide attack in American University of Afghanistan and then approved 18 contracts worth over 1.5 billion Afghani, according to a statement from the Presidential Palace on Sunday. The statement said the approved contracts related to the procurement of chemical fertilizer of the ministry of agriculture, irrigation and livestock, the asphalting project of Andarab district of northern Baghlan province, the contracts of fuel and foodstuff of the ministry labor and social affairs, martyrs and disables and some other projects including those of the ministry of urban development, said the statement.
The commission also approved seven contracts of the ministries of national defense and interior affairs in 14 sections, the statement added
According to the statement, the NPC rejected the contract of the project on connection of the country’s 14 universities with internet services related to the ministry of telecommunication and information technology and the road reconstruction project of PayanAab district of Herat province and railway facilities’ project of Aqina district and tasking the ministry of telecommunication and information technology for running it through a limited bidding by the NPC, said the statement.
The commission returned the contracts of Shahrwan and Archi canals of Kunduz and Takhar provinces, presented by the ministry of energy and water as well as Nourooz project of Paghman hill, presented by the ministry of urban development, to the related organs for technical problems.
The president after hearing the reports said the prices of the projects should be assessed with the availability of the materials and should be shared with the media to help the people get information about the projects values.
