President Ghani and United Kingdom Prime Minister Spoke by Telephone

Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson yesterday evening.

According to the presidential press office to BNA, in this telephone conversation, both sides discussed the expansion of Afghan-British relations and the peace process.

The British Chancellor reaffirmed his country’s continued support for the Afghan peace process, the strengthening of regional diplomacy for ongoing peace efforts and support of the Afghan security and defense forces.

Both sides also expressed concern about the escalation of violence, spoke of the next steps in the peace process and stressed the need for a permanent ceasefire in Afghanistan.
