Transfer Of Money By Mobile Facilitated

Kabul (BNA) The government of Afghanistan and the United States of America has facilitated transfer of money through mobile in the country, for presently around 15,000 police personnel are receiving their salaries through transfer of money via mobile.
A seminar was held yesterday in this respect in Kabul which was participated by representatives of some government departments and communications companies.
Eng. Amirzai Minister of Communication and Information Technology talking to the seminar talked on the importance of this service and expressed his supported to this process.
He added that now Afghanistan has obtained a facility for continued progress of communication system and this has facilitated the ground for transfer of money via mobile phones.
According to the in charges this system is currently practiced in several countries including Kenya, Philippine and especially in India very successfully.
He noted that initially a message comes into the mobile of the person and the amount of money is specified and he refers to the closest center of this service and by showing his identity care he/she receives their money.
They added that in future the money for electricity charges and other personal payment will also be regulated through this system.
The projects are being supported by USAID and this will be implemented throughout the country in five coming years.
The project is financed at the cost of USD 5 million. At the seminar a representative of the US embassy in Kabul and some others including the specialists of the communications companies also talked in this respect.
Presently four communications companies are providing this service.
