CE Meets US Senate Delegation

Kabul (BNA) The Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met a delegation of US senators here the other day and exchanged views on matters relating mutual interests including boosting strategic cooperation and enhancing diplomatic relations between US and Afghanistan.
The US senate delegation visit to Afghanistan took place after the tour of the leaders of National Unity Government to Washington.
Both sides in the meeting stressed for implementing the agreements reached during the visit of Afghan government’s leaders to Washington.  Dr. Abdullah added that “strengthening strategic relations between the two countries guarantees peace and democracy in Afghanistan which benefits both countries national interests.” 
In the meeting both sides also emphasized for electoral reforms and the Chief Executive said that the government of national unity would bring reforms in the election system on priority basis to win the trust of people towards electoral process.
The delegation of US Senate and the Chief Executive also stressed for bolstering peace process and efforts to ensure lasting and fair peace in Afghanistan.
