Kabul (BNA) The majority of Uruzgan people are happy for the works did by Australia in this province and are in favor of continued cooperation of this country.
The local people say that during its four years mission, this country completed rehabilitation of majority projects in this province that were effective for the people. With intrusion of foreign troops in Afghanistan, first, the Provincial Rehabilitation Team (PRT) of the US took the responsibility and then Holland. But, after leaving of Afghanistan by Holland soldiers, the PRT team of Australia took the responsibility. Since four years to date, the Australia forces despite maintenance security, they promote their responsibility in civil sector as well. A number of Uruzgan people not only are satisfied with the activities did by Australia, but they say that comparing the US and Holland, this country did more works in this province.
One of activities of civil society, Samiullah Lamsoon in Treen Kot, the capital city of Uruzgan told media that the people of Uruzgan benefited more from the works of Australia, because this country did more works in this province comparing the Holland and the US. According to him few people benefited from the assistance of Holland and the US, but the ordinary people benefited from the assistance of Australia. Another residential individual of Uruzgan, Mohammad Nasim said that the people benefited from the works implemented by Australia and majority of their problems are solved. Head of Rehabilitation and Rural Development, Eng. Mohammad Hashim and John Philip, the ambassador of Australia in Kabul said that this country is not only committed to help Uruzgan, but, is committed to render continued cooperation to central government of Afghanistan as well. He said that every year, Australia helps the Afghan forces worth $100 million.
According to him this assistance is continuing till the half part of 2015. He desired that after the end of this date, his country to continue to its cooperation to Afghanistan. Philip added that as of 2007 to date, their soldiers were quartered in Uruzgan, but the rehabilitation affairs are submitted in 2010 to them. This is in a time that in previous years, the PRTs were active in some projects that majority of people were satisfied with their projects. A resident of Paghman, Shahghasi said in the connection to media said that as of beginning of interim administration to date, beside maintenance security, the foreign troops in Paghman and other districts close to Kabul city launched the projects of digging deep wells for local people and the latter was satisfied with their work. But, after passing each year, the PRTs activities were not considerable in some parts of the country and I hope the PRTs to continue to their activities.
He said that besides sharing in digging deep wells and installation of water pumps, this team also to rehabilitate and construct a number of clinics, schools, bridges and small bridges for local people in various localities. Shahghasi continued that sometimes, the PRTs also distributed food items and after beginning of their work, they gather the local people and after speaking with dignitaries, they adopted measure for construction and rehabilitation of its project. In my opinion, it is very suitable. This is in a time that construction and rehabilitation of projects in Afghanistan is enjoying from special importance, because, during the devastated long imposed wars, the people of Afghanistan lost their all assets, so, such economic projects have its high importance.
