No One is Safe in Kabul, Even Members of Parliament

Kabul (BNA) Armed robbers took the car and weapon of a member of parliament from the safest part of Kabul last night.

The incident took place in Pol-e-Sorkh area which is considered a crowded place in Kabul.

Armed robbers attacked the vehicles of Amir Mohammad Khaksar, a member of the Wolesi Jirga, and took away a vehicle and a rifle belonging to his bodyguards.

Interestingly, the robbers were dressed in police uniforms and riding in a military motorized Ranger.

A clash took place between the guards and the thieves during the attack, in which three bodyguards of Amir Khaksar were injured and one of the thieves was killed.

Amir Mohammad Khaksar said he was not in the car.

Intelligence services are working hard, said Tariq Arian, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

But people consider these words repetitive and clichéd and say: security in Kabul is so fragile that even the parliamentarians who live under strict protection are not safe.
