Afghanistan Appreciates China’s Cooperation In Peace Process, Rabbani

Kabul (BNA) Salahuddin Rabbani, Minister of Foreign Affairs met yesterday with Chinese ambassador Deng Xijun here in Kabul.
In the meeting, the Chinese ambassador to Kabul first invited Afghanistan Minister of Foreign Affairs to pay an official visit to China in future. The Chinese ambassador briefed about his country’s cooperation and efforts towards maintaining peace and stability and national reconciliation in Afghanistan, adding that maintaining peace and stability in Afghanistan was not only significant for the people of Afghanistan but, also significant enough for neighboring countries, region and the world. He said China would not spare any efforts and cooperation in this regard. Related to dispatching Chinese researchers and experts to Afghanistan, the Chinese ambassador said, “The first group from Chinese Ministry of Commerce will arrive in Kabul next week to work jointly with Afghan experts in connection with providing short-term and long-term programs for development of Afghanistan national economy, energy, extraction of mines, construction of residential houses and sectors.” Meanwhile, the Chinese ambassador to Kabul briefed the Afghan Minister of Foreign Affairs related to economic belt of Silk Route the plan of which has been suggested by Chinese Prime Minister. In return, Minister of Foreign Affairs while pointing to economic belt of the Silk Route said the government of Afghanistan was welcoming the plan and suggestion and ready for any kind of cooperation with China in this regard. Related to Afghanistan peace process and role of China, Rabbani said Afghanistan was appreciating the role and cooperation of China in maintaining peace and stability and national reconciliation in Afghanistan, adding that they have witnessed positive developments in this regard in connection with the Chinese cooperation in peace process.
