Kandahar (BNA) Omar Zakhelwal the Afghan Minister of Finance imposed a ban on importation of vehicles made before 2002 to the country, official said on Sunday.
Zakhelwal said, traders should not try to import vehicles more than 10 years old because the Finance Minister had stopped the process of customs duty on such vehicles.
The public health ministry authorities also imposed the ban of such vehicles in light of Public Health.
The old model vehicles due to their low quality cause air pollution and traffic problems, the traffic department head, Gen. Nooruddin Hamdart, said.
