Malnutrition Concerned Citizens of Wardak Province

MAIDAN SHER (BNA) Maidan Wardak health officials expressed concern about the growing malnutrition of children and women in the province.

They entitled the joint effort of the Islamic Emirate and the international community the only way to stop the growing malnutrition in Afghanistan.

According to the statistics provided, in the last one month alone, 2,656 malnutrition cases have been registered in Maidan Wardak.

Due to the unwillingness of some families to see a doctor, the real rate of malnutrition in Maidan Wardak can be more than the actual statistics.

Dr. Mohammad Zarak Shirk, Director of Public Health in Wardak Square, expressed concern about the increasing amount of malnutrition in the province.

He said that out of more than 2,000 patients with malnutrition in Maidan Wardak, hundreds of patients are severely malnourished and need serious and immediate attention.

The director of Maidan Wardak Public Health called the joint efforts of the Islamic Emirate and the international community the only appropriate solution to treat malnutrition patients and stop the growing disease in Afghanistan.

Badam Gol and his wife had come to Wardak Central Hospital to treat a malnourished child.

They say that their child has mental and physical problems and cannot take school lessons properly.

However, the Sensory Aid Foundation helped dozens of children with severe malnutrition at Wardak Medical Center receive special nutrients.

With the economic crisis and the spread of poverty and hunger in Afghanistan, the rate of malnutrition has risen sharply; A trend that is increasing day by day.

The World Food Organization says more than 23 million Afghans do not have access to adequate food.

However, it has been reported that millions of people in Afghanistan do not have food security due to poverty, and a number of them have been malnourished.

Although accurate statistics on malnutrition in children and adults have not been released in Afghanistan, millions of poor Afghans are said to be affected.
