Gul-I-Anar Traditional Poetry Held In Kandahar

Kandahar (BNA) Gul-i-Anar ‘blossom of pomegranate’ traditional poetry was held in public park of Aino Mina with participation of Minister of Information and Culture Abdul Bari Jahani, Kandahar governor Humayoun Azizi, deputy governor Abdul Ali Shamsi, chief and members of provincial council, representatives of Kandahar people in national assembly, a number of government officials and hundreds of poets, writers and students.
After provincial chief of information and culture and governor of Kandahar spoke related to the traditional poetry, Minister of Information and Culture Abdul Bari Jahani shared his message with Kandahar nation and participants of the ceremony.
Minister of Information and Culture said he is happy to participate in the traditional ceremony of poetry, adding that Kandahar had not been only the place of poetry in the past but also an academic place.
He complained from Kandahar youth that they have not perceived their responsibility so far, considering that youth’s activity in social media didn’t meet the time’s demands. Minister of information and culture complaining Kandahar youth said: now, you don’t comprehend your responsibility in a good manner and don’t find solution for all problems of the society according to the demand of time.
Jahani regarded attention towards education, encouraging of youth for higher education and social activities as significant that would make Kandahar youth compete with others as before. After his speech, minister of information and culture opened the poetry by his poem.
