President Ghani Seeks China’s Crucial Role In Peace Talks

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with Yao Jing ambassador of the People’s Republic of China here in Arg yesterday, presidential press statement said.
At the outset, the ambassador conveyed warm greetings and best wishes of his country’s people and president to President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, adding that since visit of China’s vice president to Kabul and President Ghani’s trip to China, the bilateral economic, political and security ties between the two countries have further bolstered and a positive change has taken place in the believes of the Chinese leaders toward Afghanistan. The ambassador also assured of full support from Quadrilateral Coordinating Meetings on Afghan peace talks, adding that academic scholarships and people to people exchange would further tighten the two country’s relations. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani thanked China’s goodwill toward Afghanistan, hoping that all Afghan officials to find the opportunity to visit China. The president also hinted to crucial role of China in Afghan-led peace talks, requesting China to cooperate Afghanistan in different fields, in particular in peace talks.
