Imposition of Sanctions by the United States is Unjustifiable and Illogical: Mujahid

KABUL (BNA): In response to the United States’ recent imposition of sanctions on two officials from the Islamic Emirate, Zabullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, expressed strong criticism.

Mujahid denounced the decision by the U.S. Treasury Department to sanction Sheikh Fareduddin Mahmoud, the head of the General Academy of Sciences, and Sheikh Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, Acting Minister of Vice and Virtue, stating that the Islamic Emirate vehemently condemns such actions.

Furthermore, Mujahid highlighted the futility of relying on failed methods by emphasizing America’s history of unsuccessful acts. He firmly affirmed that applying pressure and resorting to sanctions will not serve as effective solutions to any problem.

According to Mujahid, while the United States itself is one of the major violators of human rights due to its support to the illegal occupation of Palestine by Israel, accusing others of human rights violations and imposing sanctions on them by the U.S. is unjustifiable and illogical.
