President Karzai Awards High State Medal to Rahimi, Afghan Boxing Champion

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai honored Hamid Rahimi, the champion of the World Boxing Union (WBU), awarding him the Ghazi Mir Masjidi Khan Medal on Wednesday.
In a ceremony held in the Presidential Palace, President Karzai awarded the medal to Rahimi in honor of his WBU championship title.
Appreciating and praising Hamid Rahimi, the President wished him further successes and victories in the future.
Rahimi secured the WBU gold belt by defeating his Belarusian rival in the boxing match organized by WBU at the Event Centre "Le Royal" in Hamburg.
He is a professional boxer since 1385 and has won 20 out of 21 contests over his rivals so far.
The World Boxing Union was founded in 1995 and its championship titles have been recognized in Europe and Africa.
In attendance to the ceremony also were Mohammad Karim Khalili 2nd Vice-President, Shahzada Masoud Advisor to the President, Dr. Sadeq Modaber Director General for Office of Administrative Affairs & Council of Ministers Secretariat and Mohammad Zaher Aghbar Director General of National Olympic Committee.
