NPC Approves 10 Contracts

Kabul (BNA) The National Procurement Commission (NPC) in its meeting with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair here in Arg yesterday approved 10 contracts costing 822 million Afghanis.
In the meeting 18 contracts involving administration affairs directorate, ministries of agriculture, defense and public works were reviewed and 10 of them endorsed and thus more than 104 million Afghanis have been saved in compare with last years in the same contracts.
The meeting was attended among other government functionaries by Second Vice President, Sarwar Danesh and Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah.
According to another report, the cabinet with President Ghani on the chair in its meeting yesterday in Arg offered condolence with the families of seven civilians who were beheaded by terrorists in Zabul recently.
The cabinet also tasked ministers to prepare their second 100-day working programs with focusing on developing provinces and submit to the office of president on Thursday.
The cabinet also discussed establishing 30 projects with regard to producing electricity at the cost of $226 million in 20 provinces of the country and encouraging private sector to invest.
Briefing the cabinet, the minister for petroleum said the capacity of gas refinery in Jauzjan and extraction has been doubled and has paved the way to build gas generating plant with the capacity of producing 50 MW.
Meantime, the minister for justice appraised the cabinet about the draft law on supporting the right of author, artist and researchers which has been drafted in seven chapters and 45 articles.
The cabinet also discussed the salaries and pensions of retired officers and approved their payment in the four-year installments.
Minister for foreign affairs briefed the cabinet about the agreement on civil aviation services between Afghanistan and the Kingdom of Jordon which was approved by the cabinet.
