Four Key Taliban Members Killed in Herat

Herat (BNA) Four key Taliban members were killed in fighting by security troops in Herat.

Maulawi Mazlum, commander of Taliban Red Unit in Herat, along with his deputy and three senior members of the network, were targeted late last night in Shindand district.

Security Troops reportedly attacked on Taliban hideout just as they were organizing a series of new attacks in Herat.

The Special Operations Corps said in a news release that Maulawi Mazlum Yar a member of Taliban Red Unit in Herat, was killed along with his deputy and three senior members of the network.

The Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.

According to another source, the security force says that by detecting and defusing 16 mines, they prevented a series of explosions in Herat.

No one has been arrested in connection with the bombings.
