Foreign Ministers of Neighbor Countries Stress Interaction Need with IEA

KABUL(BNA) Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Foreign ministers of region countries in Beijing, China today.

According to reports; Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi said that in addition to the foreign ministers of neighboring countries, the foreign ministers of Russia, Qatar and Indonesia also attended the meeting.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, spokesman of Foreign said in a serise of tweets, “the participating countries stressed the need to engage with the Islamic Emirate, saying that ensuring lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan is in the interest of the region and the world.
Mawlaw Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan said at the meeting that the new Afghan government wants to keep the country away from confrontation with the world with its economy-oriented policy.

The Islamic Emirate is trying to establish a political understanding with Afghan personalities with the aim of establishing a comprehensive system, and a special commission has been appointed to fulfill this goal, He added
Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, referring to the concerns of neighboring countries regarding the activities of ISIS, said that the group has been largely suppressed in Afghanistan, but some countries have created a propaganda space for the group and exaggerated its presence and activities.
He added that ensuring lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan is in the interest of all countries in the region and the world, and that instability in Afghanistan will lead to the spread of instability and insecurity in the world.
The Foreign Minister once again called for the release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets and said that those assets should be returned to the Afghan people.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wangyi, who also chaired the Afghanistan Neighbors’ Summit, while supporting the stance of the acting Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, said that the security of other countries should not be allowed to be threatened by Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reiterated his country’s support for Afghanistan and stressed that Western countries must take responsibility for Afghanistan.
Referring to the accreditation of new Afghan diplomats, he said that diplomats from the previous government could not represent Afghanistan.

Representatives of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan stressed the need for joint economic and transit projects in Afghanistan.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the issue of recognizing Afghanistan’s new government should be addressed in a regional understanding and that all neighboring countries and the region should agree on it.

On the other hand, the foreign ministers of Indonesia and Qatar reaffirmed their support for Afghanistan and stressed the need to strengthen cooperation to help the people of this country.
The third Foreign Ministers’ Meeting has held in Beijing, China, to review the situation in the country, and the next meeting is scheduled to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
