Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a decree has imposed ban on smuggling and illegal export of pine nuts, pistachio and saffron and instructed the country’s organs to take strict measures against its smuggling.
“On the basis of fresh decree by president, the smuggling of Afghanistan’s pine nuts, pistachio and saffron is banned and the concerned security forces should confiscate the produced and bring its smugglers to justice. “The presidential decree said.
It said the concerned officials found of negligence in combating smuggling of the pine nuts, pistachio and saffron would face legal action, adding defense and interior ministries, security organs and relevant departments are tasked to take necessary steps against the smuggling of these products by air and ground routes.
