President Karzai Issues Order On Observance of Savings

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai in accordance with the resolutions of the council of ministers and provision of orders no 1808 dated 17/5/1385m No. 3213, dated 10/6/1386 and decree No. 50 of the presidential office pertaining to observance of savings and promotion of domestic industries and strengthening of national economy, approved the following.
1. All the ministries and government departments are obliged to observe saving in expenses of stationery, lubricants, repairs and other routine expenses of their related departments and avoid any unnecessary expenditures, including foreign trip expenses from the specified norms, unnecessary trips especially those trips the expenses of which is being borne by the government of Afghanistan and other such expenses, and try to reach them to the lowest levels.
2. The ministries and the government departments are repeatedly ordered that while buying goods they should prefer domestic products and strictly avoid luxury foreign goods.
3. The administration affairs and secretariat of the council of ministers should assess the available vehicles of the ministries and government departments and collect their extra ones for distribution to the provinces.
4. Supervision of implementation of this order is the responsibility of the administration affairs and secretariat of the council of Ministers.
