Acting Foreign Minister of Islamic Emirate Amir Khan Muttaqi said ties between India and Afghanistan were expanding, reminded that the country expected to reopen its embassy in the coming days.
Amir Khan Muttaqi is the second high-rank Islamic Emirate diplomat after Anas Haqqani, who is calling on India to reopen its embassy in Kabul.
Afghan-Hind has long-standing historical ties, mostly with Afghanistan’s ruling regimes. India has had diplomatic ties with Afghanistan since 1950, shortly after gaining political independence from Britain, and has since undertaken numerous infrastructure projects.
India has built and is working on projects in Afghanistan, which is why the acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan stressed that the two countries should have economic, political, and diplomatic channels and argued for India to reopen its embassy, and starts its projects.
