Kabul (BNA) “The youths who are pursuing education at the country’s universities make the pillars of Afghanistan and through whom the country will be relieved of dependency.”
This was stated by President Hamid Karzai at the session marking the 82nd founding anniversary of the Kabul University at the auditorium of the university.
He added that today is a great historical day as on this day the foundation was laid for strengthening of the Afghan nation.
Recalling the gains in higher education in the country in the past ten years, added that we have not reached the site that we should reach indeed, and only laid the initial stone on this path and we hope to reach our aim and destination that is attaining of knowledge.
He stressed that our main problem is having no firm foundation of knowledge and only through this way our youth will make the powerful future of the country.
He stressed that we have learnt of the problem of recent decades that it is only through knowledge and science the national strengthens, its stability is guaranteed and can lead a better life.
He noted that Afghanistan has marked progress quantity-wise but we need to upgrade the quality of higher education.
He stressed that the entrance examination system should be rectified and the profession for students should start from the ninth grade to that they gain better marks and can enter into areas of their choice at the country’s universities.
He pointed that the university lecturers should be equipped with advanced knowledge and professions so they can train better cadres.
He noted that ensuring of security is the benefit of Afghanistan, the security forces should be strengthened and Afghanistan’s economies become strong. He said that Afghanistan’s relations with Pakistan is in delicate conditions, adding that in order to create a civilized this away from hostility and plots, we did much efforts with Pakistan and we are still moving on this direction and will take the first steps.
In case anyone in this region tries for their own benefits and outside this area with the aim that the foreign policy of Afghanistan is dominated by some foreign neighbor, this empty imagination.
President Karzai asked the government and the military authorities of that country to rectify themselves and see Afghanistan as strong historical country and do not judge over the miserable problems of this nation, but look at this nation as a strong tree that is having over five thousand of history.
Once again he emphasized that attacks and violations taking place against Afghanistan recently is thought that with these they will compel Afghanistan to recognize the Durand Line, however this is impossible for the Afghan nation did not accept it.
He expressed the hype that Afghanistan becomes a strong, honorable country and a well-off country at the endeavor of its youths and the region becomes free of insurgency and extremism.
