CE Meets Italian Ambassador To Kabul

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met yesterday with Italian newly appointed ambassador to Kabul at Sapidar Palace.
In the meeting, beside cooperation between the two countries, particular development and economic projects were discussed.
The country’s chief executive while congratulating the Italian ambassador for the new post said that Afghanistan was hopeful for reconstruction of railway and Herat airport funded by Italy.
He added that reconstruction work of the airport would be followed in accordance to current master plan and there was no obstacle in this regard.
Pointing to construction of railway in the country’s west, chief executive said: completion of the project would connect Afghanistan with Iran’s Chabahar Port.
The Italian ambassador to Kabul assured of his country’s continued cooperation to Afghanistan and would further expand relations in other fields. He added that his country was interested in reconstruction of Herat Airport and had plan to kick off assessing process of the project in coming months.
He further said that they were also working on construction of the railway and hoped that effort would be accelerated in this regard.
