KANDAHAR (BNA): Following a decree from the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, construction work has commenced for 19 check dams in Kandahar province, starting with the Shah Wali Kot district.
These check dams, which are part of a project led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, have the capacity to store tens of thousands of cubic meters of water.
The construction is expected to be completed within three months, at a total cost of three million Afghanis.
