Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during his visit in Tokyo city, the capital of Japan yesterday. According to BNA report, both sides discussed developments, continued cooperation, investment in Afghanistan, in particular in mining areas, peace, stability and security. Extending condolences over recent victims of the natural disasters in Japan, President Ghani thanked the country’s warm hospitality said it was a honor attending the enthronement ceremony of Japan empire. Hinting to bilateral friendly and strategic ties between the two countries, the President thanked the Japanese assistance to Afghanistan, adding reformation has taken place in mining sector of the country and amendments has also been made to the existed law, asking PM Abe to encouraged investors to invest on Afghanistan mining sector. Thanking President Ghani for participation of the Japan empire’s enthronement ceremony, PM Abe reiterated his country’s continued support to Afghanistan, in particular in areas of capacity building. Praising Afghans stance against terrorism, Japanese PM said ensuring peace in Afghanistan was indeed ensuring peace in the world, adding Japan was supporting Afghan-led and owned peace talks. Japanese PM went on saying that his country security was affected by recent move of the North Korea, asking President Ghani to support Japan’s stance against the North Korea. PM Abe applauded recent progress in mining sector of Afghanistan, showing his country’s interest in investments on mining sector.
