Air Corridors Increase Afghanistan Exports by 33 Percent

Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced that 11,087 metric tons of the country’s products have been exported to the world since the air-corridors establishment.
“Since the inauguration of air-corridor program, we have exported 11,087 MTs of goods via 1,111 flights valued 238 million dollars to the world”, Ajmal Ahmady, Minister of Industry and Commerce has tweeted.
According to Ahmady, 5,376 metric tons of Afghanistan goods, valued 130 million dollars have been exported through 855 flights in the year 2019.
A statement published by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce said the air-corridor has caused a 33% increase in Afghanistan’s export. Afghanistan air-corridor program was launched 3 years ago through which Afghan exporters and businessmen can export products to the world.
Products exported through the air-corridor program include Afghan saffron, fresh fruits, dry fruits, handicrafts, carpets, vegetables, herbal medicines and Karakuls. Afghanistan has business cooperation with European countries, Central Asia, China, India and the Middle East through the air-corridor program.
