China to Resume Visa Process for Afghans’ Traders

KABUL (BNA): China Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated to resume the visa process for Afghans’ traders, in a telephone conversation with Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, on Monday.

Wang expressed his condolences over the tragedy and said that various forces in China, from central and local government to social organizations and companies, have worked overtime to deliver emergency humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and help the Afghan people, according to a statement.

Wang said the first batch of tents, blankets, and other supplies are being delivered by leased aircraft and will be followed by cash and other ancillary equipment as soon as possible.

Muttaqi thanked the Chinese Foreign Minister and said that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan had provided food and medical aid to the earthquake victims on time, adding that now the victims need urgent shelter. Quoting spokesman Qahar Balkhi.

Wang said China will soon start issuing visas to Afghan businessmen and facilitate the return of Afghan students to China.

Muttaqi welcomed China’s “positive policy” towards Afghanistan and expressed hope that it would boost trade between the two countries, particularly in dried fruits.

The Chinese government has decided to provide about $7.5 million in humanitarian aid to the victims of the accident.
