Biden Approves Record $886 billion US Defense Budget

KABUL (BNA): Joe Biden, the President of the United States, approved the country’s military budget of $886 billion.

The U.S. holds the largest military budget globally.

The White House announced in a statement that President Biden signed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024, amounting to over $886 billion.

This legislation outlines budgets for the Ministry of Defense, National Nuclear Security Administration, Department of Energy, Ministry of Foreign, and intelligence communities for the upcoming fiscal year.

The Senate approved the bill on December 13, and the Congress on December 14, before President Biden signed it into law.

The fiscal year 2024 began on October 1 of the current year and extends until October 1, 2024.
The legislation allocates a $300 million budget to support Ukraine.

In this case, this amount is negligible compared to the $61 billion that Biden has requested from Congress to assist the Kyiv in the fight against Russia.
