ANP New Uniforms Distribution Process Starts

KABUL (BNA) During a press conference, Wednesday the deputy of the Interior Ministry Mawlavi Noor Jalal within a decree issued by the supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate, and with the Prime Minister’s approval, announced Afghan National Police (ANP) uniforms distribution process today.

Abdul Nafay Takor a spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Interior told a news conference in Kabul that the new ANP-designed uniform is suitable for the four seasons in the country Afghanistan, and from now on the police forces are obliged to wear it.

He said the Afghan National Police (ANP) uniform distribution started from Kabul and Kandahar and will soon spread all over the country.

Currently, 20,000 uniforms have been provided and this number will rise to 100,000 in two weeks, he added.

Takor also said that a contract with a 75% lower price than the former administration police uniforms price has been signed for providing the new uniform with a domestic company.

He stressed the importance of identifying police uniforms in maintaining urban order and discipline and said that launching the process would help improve security.

The Ministry of Interior making efforts to professionalize and equip the national police and will not allow anyone to disrupt the internal order and security of the country, officials said.

Meanwhile, Kabul and citizens across the country earlier demanded the Ministry of Interior (MoI) to form the Afghan National Police with uniforms to maintain better security in the country.
