US Reiterates Commitment for ANDSF

Kabul (BNA) Dr. Hamdullah Mohib, National Security Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, met with Dean Thompson, the Assistant Secretary of Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs for the US Secretary of State here in his office on Sunday, a statement said yesterday.
Thompson conveyed US President Joe Biden’s message to NSA Mohib, which reiterates commitment to assisting the Afghan security and defense forces, continuing development assistance to the country, and international support for peace in Afghanistan, the statement from the National Security Council press office said.
NSA Mohib, as quoted in the statement, said that Afghanistan respects President Biden’s decision and works regularly, effectively and closely with the United States and its international partners to ensure a regular exit and to maintain diplomatic missions.
The National Security Adviser said that the Afghan security and defense forces are capable of defending their country and that Afghanistan is a reliable partner in the fight against terrorism, according to the statement.
